I had an extremely interesting conversation with my friends Ray & Del in work today… It seems that Microsoft left a massive loophole open in the installation of Windows Vista Upgrade CDs.
Up until today, it was thought that with the use of a Vista Upgrade disk, you required a valid install of Windows XP preinstalled (and also that the Vista Upgrade process invalidated the product key for XP during the upgrade).
However, today we find that there is an extremely easy way of using a Vista Upgrade CD to do a clean install of the OS, without the need for XP preinstalled.
Basically all you need to do is a fresh install of Vista using your upgrade disk, and DON’T enter your product key during the install. This will activate a 30-day Trial of the OS.
Then, once booted into Vista, boot into Vista and run the Vista Install again.
Choose a custom installation, and choose a clean install of Vista - yeap… you’re gonna run through the install process again. Once the install has completed for a second time, you should be able to activate Vista normally. You can also delete the Windows.old directory that is created (the first vista install)… and ta-daaa! :D
Anyway, there’s a more thorough guide to doing this, complete with images at each stage/
Take a look at THIS ARTICLE on how to run through the upgrade in detail.

I got a new phone yesterday as I’m having to sell my Nokia N93, and I opted for the Sony Ericsson w850i… I went for this mainly for the walkman features.
Anyway the phone is sexy as hell - a lot smaller than my N93, and a lot more steamlined.
I also found that you can blog photos from it, and now I’m seriously impressed! Anyway, after setting up my mobile blog to point my existing blog, this is my test post. :)
The added picture is my cat, Leila. How pissed off does she look?! lol
Anyway serious blogs to follow…. honest!

I’ve been a follower of Asian cinema now for a long time, and I realised that I haven’t seen a guide or recommendation list for Asian cinema for newcomers to the scene.
So, here is my stripped-down list of Asian movies (Japanese, Chinese and Korean) you really should watch. They are in no set order, but I’m not including Anime for the timebeing - afterall, thats an entirely new blog. :)
(Apologies for the rather insanely-long blog!)

I thought with all the furore over the Apple iPhone of late, that I would write my own analysis of the product. My reasoning was mainly because I was generally underwhelmed with Apple’s new baby, so I thought a little research may open my eyes a little.
