Random? Yes. Disturbing? Yes. Funny as hell? Definitely.
This video is pure genius… they’re short films that were originally submitted to an american TV station as ad slots by Don Hertzfeldt… and they were rejected (you’ll see why)… or at least, so the cartoon leads you to believe. ;)
If you’re not saying “My spoon’s too big” or “I AM A BANANA”, and chuckling to yourself… then, well… sense of humour required. :P

I’m sure by now everyone knows about the debacle that is Manhunt 2’s release… especially in the UK. We’re never going to see the game here in the UK (unless we import).
If you were wondering exactly what the BBFC won’t sign off on… here’s a video of a crowbar kill from the Wii version.

A new shot from Alien vs Predator 2 has been released… showing us a shot of the new “Predalien”… I haven’t decided if this looks… wrong… or not. Either way, take a look and decide for yourself:

You can also check out the AVP 2 trailer after the jump.

Do you have Guitar Hero 2 for the Xbox 360… and you’re just drooling over GH3? Want to be able to play the demo before it hits Xbox Live? Well now you can! The demo has been freshly ripped from the retail release of Tony Hawk’s Proving Ground… and it will run with no modding, firmware flashing etc.
Yeap… you can download, and burn the Guitar Hero 3 Demo… and play it on your un-modded 360! :)

First you need to download the .iso image that’s available here.
Then just burn it to a CD or DVD, and whack it into your 360. Once loaded, you’ll see “Mixed Media Disk” in the CD Tray section… and that won’t load - however head to the Games blade and go to “Demos and more”, and voila! “Guitar Hero 3 Demo” is available. :)
The tracklist for the demo is as follows:
Pearl Jam - “Even Flow”
Tenacious D - “The Metal”
Scorpions - “Rock You Like A Hurricane”
Pat Benetar - “Hit Me With Your Best Shot”
Priestess - “Lay Down“
Just as a warning the demo will reset itself after playing 4 tracks… so you’ll need to restart it to keep playing it.
Have fun!

Is there nothing that Mozilla can’t do? Not content with creating an award-winning web browser, email client and an awesome media player…. Mozilla have stepped into the ring to take on the likes of MSN & AIM.
“Instantbird” is the prototype name for Mozilla’s latest development project (beta version 0.1) - a multi-protocol IM client along the same lines as Pidgin (formerly GAIM).

The download is only 13.1mb, so on most broadband connections its not exactly going to take long… and the Windows install is relatively quick at under a minute… (Mashable report that the Ubuntu compiling process takes about 2 hours).
I’ve literally only just read about Instantbird, and typically I’m at work so I won’t be downloading it until later on - for now I’ll have to do with Meebo’s Firefox extension so I can be a little more covert in my chatting. ;)

If you’re a fan of Firefox, and social networking… then I’d recommend checking out a browser called Flock. I’ve been using this on-and-off for a while, but have recently been using it as my default browser as its impressed me rather a lot.

Flock incorporates a lot of features from the offset that normal Firefox users would have to install a lot of extensions to emulate… but these features don’t bloat out the browser, which makes a change. The browser itself is based on Firefox 2, so already its hooking Firefox users by giving them what they know, and more.
One of my favorite features of the browser is the Media Bar - a small toolbar above the main browser window that will display your Flickr account, Youtube account… or favorite searches etc…

The latest beta version of Flock also includes a new addition, simply called “People”… its basically something that the Mozilla guys have touched on briefly called “The Coop“, which lets you integrate Facebook into Firefox. However the guys at Flock have developed this more, now including Youtube & Flickr into the mix.
Anyway if you’re a Web 2.0 whore, or are just into browsing image and video media a lot… I’d highly recommend Flock.
