The Real Iron Man Suit!

// Written on Apr 11, 2008 // movies, tech

Iron Man hits our shores in just under a month’s time… and while the masses gear up for it, there is currently a real life version already developing in Utah… its called the XOS Exoskeleton.

My mate Dave advised me about this from Popular Science… and holy crap it looks awesome!

Here’s a segment of the article on Popular Science:

He could easily knock a nearby coder to the floor, or fling one over a desk—but even more impressive, he could do it all day. To show off his superhuman endurance, he walks over to a weight rack and yanks down a bar loaded with 200 pounds. Then he does it again. And again. He stops somewhere around 50, but he’s been known to rip through 500 reps in a row. Even then, he quits out of boredom, not fatigue.

Video Blog Test - Unknown Territory

// Written on Mar 20, 2008 // blog, video

Ok I decided to start doing a video blog every now & again, just as a change to some of the normal stuff I do - after all variety is the spice of life and all that crap!

Anyway this is just a test to see how it turns out - I’ll do a proper video blog in a week or so with actual content, and I’ll edit the video appropriately too. Please comment and let me know if you have any suggestions or if you want to see more etc… I’d like them to improve as well obviously!

For those of you that actually know me, you may take the piss - I’m expecting you to. :P

The Myth Of Religion - extremely informative video

// Written on Mar 13, 2008 // life, video

My friend Rich showed me possibly one of the most interesting videos based on Religion that I’ve ever seen - it documents Christ in almost every religion and culture that you can think of. There are so many similarities its unbelieveable… and of all the iterations, Christianity’s version is the most recent.

Now me being Agnostic (as in I don’t really care about religion at all), its interesting for me to watch as I have a fairly objective viewpoint… so I hope it is for you too, despite your religious belief or background. :)

Anyway take a look - its a lengthy video… well, there are many more - but this is a cut-down version that seems to keep getting banned from youtube all the time as it seems people don’t like the truth being known. :/

Video games = “crack for the brain”?

// Written on Jan 22, 2008 // gaming

The Times have an interesting article on their site today demonising video games.

Xbox in the firing line... again

After reading, and laughing out loud many many times… I couldn’t help but wince at the prospects for the author’s career.  I know that when I was a journalist, if I’d written something as innacurate, misinformed and ill-researched - my job would have been in jeopardy.

The writer obviously has had no experience of video games in any form, and has also never bothered to even research her chosen topic to bash. Thanks to this, she’s made herself out to be pretty stupid… and having a quick flick through the (at the time of posting) 137 comments, its obvious that 99% of readers feel the same.
